Voyage on the Magnificent Royal Clipper in Greece and Turkey in 2016

On September 24, 2016 our group embarked on a fascinating journey from Athens to Istanbul on the beautiful tall masted Royal Clipper ship, part of the Star Clippers fleet of authentic sailing ships. In Athens we stayed at the beautiful Elektra Palace hotel located in the Plaka, and in Istanbul at the historic Pera Palace Hotel, the original stop for the Orient Express. We sailed across the Aegean Sea in the elegant Royal Clipper up the coast of Turkey stopping at Kos, Patmos, Kusadasi (Ephesus), Dikili (Pergamum) and Canakkale (Troy) before arriving in Istanbul. With amazing sites, lovely people and great food and wine, it was incredible and inspiring visit to the Eastern Mediterranean.
